Tal Wilkenfeld

Tal emigrated to the United States from Australia when she was 16 years old to study electric guitar at the Los Angeles College of Music. That same year she switched to electric bass. Wilkenfeld graduated 2004 and put a band together and spent time writng her own music. At 18 she moved to New York City and began making a name for herself in New York's jazz clubs. In 2007, she audtioned for Chic Corea and was hired for his Australian tour. In November of that year she joined Jeff Beck for a European tour that included the legendary "Live At Ronnie Scott's" shows. Tal has received many awards includeing being voted “The Year's Most Exciting New Player” by Bass Player magazine's readers' choice poll in 2008, awarded Bass Player Magazine's “Young Gun Award” in 2013 and receiving the “Vision” award at the eighth annual She Rocks Awards in 2020. Her career has included playing with many of the greats in both jazz and rock. Today she is an acomplished singersong/writer as well as a phenomenal bass player.
