Sons Of Bill - One Town Away

"Hank Williams may have been a lovesick drinker, but being a lovesick drunk don't make you Hank."

So sings James Wilson on the soon to be released Sons of Bill CD, "One Town Away". Although he may not be Hank, he still manages to write and perform some hauntingly authentic tales of love and drink. Hovering somewhere between the high lonesome sound and early Son Volt, "One Town Away" is an impressive second effort by this Charlottesville Virginia alt-country band. Produced and engineered by grammy winning Jim Scott, "One Town Away" is one of the best sounding CD's I've heard in some time.
On tour with Reckless Kelly, the Sons of Bill played a great show in Philadelphia at The World Cafe Live proving that their live show is every bit as good as their studio work.
